You Know Your Age When ...

Last week, I was in an induction course at my work place and our trainer had us playing a team game of Categories. When the letter "M" came up, my team unanimously agreed to go with my choice which was ""Murder on the Orient Express" as the trick of the game is to try not to come with the same choice as another team might select the same and thus precious points are lost.

Guess what?!? You know when your age is a dead give away when you are in a room full of young graduates most of them born in the late '70s or '80s and then you come up with a movie name that most of them are totally unfamiliar with.  Sigh!

Working Mum On Artwork

I just got my first pay cheque for the last quarter of the month at my first job since leaving the workforce exactly 3 years ago. Yes, I am now a pram pushing mum (PPM) for only 3 days of the week now as I am a working mum for the rest of the week.

The first day at work, I returned home, literally limping like a war hero, pushing my daughter home in her stroller as I had worn enclosed court shoes - Emma by Hush Puppies. After so many months of walking around in open toed sandals, my poor feet were put under severe stress. It took me four days for my body and mind to adust, but now I am okay.  And, the feet are doing well especially after I splurged on a spa pedicure yesterday.

On my day off, here I am enjoying the balmy autumn sunshine in the southern hemisphere with my daughter on my lap while waiting for a bus.

Sharing the wooden bench with an old lady with a bent back and floppy cloth hat, my mind wanders off staring at the reflection on a Chinese antique shop window. It makes me wonder who would want to purchase these ferocious looking warriors, shown skewering their hunt with heavy looking swords, carved on stone panels. Each panel is priced at around $1000 each.

Who on earth would like to spend that kind of money on a gory image like that ? Even for arts sake, or plausible antique value, it's a bloody waste of money. I think so.

Stringing Beads

It must be a girlie thing - our little one is already taking interest in Mummy's beads and bags.

Here is a blatant advertisement of my very own design - yes, I beaded the necklace in the photo in less than 10 minutes with my vast collection of blue and green glass beads bought from the bead shops in the narrow gullies of Pune's bazaars and matched with Czech crystal beads from the upmarket bead stores here in Sydney.

If you happen to like it, please do let me know. I might be inspired to start a home business if I can get any free time after bub is fast asleep - maybe ?!? I can even string bracelets and make earrings though I am still getting around to making identical wrapped loops for dangling beads.
